IMPORTANT NOTICE: American Heart Association Course Completion Card Price Increase
October 6, 2017
To All AHA BLS Instructors,
Effective October 3, 2017 the American Heart Association implemented a price increase to all Heartsaver course completion certificates. Unfortunately, this change was done so without any notice to training centers or instructors.
The new pricing structure will be applicable for all rosters submitted on or after October 6, 2017:
• AHA Heartsaver Student Workbooks - $2.50 / per book including:
• Heartsaver First Aid
• Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED
• Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED
• Heartsaver CPR AED
• AHA Heartsaver Course Completion Certificates (printed) - $20 / per card
• AHA Heartsaver Course Completion Certificates (e-card) - $20 / per card
BLS, ACLS and PALS course completion certificates are not impacted by this change.
As you know, student textbooks can be purchased directly through any of the authorized AHA distributors, including Channing-Bete, Laerdal and Worldpoint ECC. Course completion certificates can be obtained by submitted rosters online through the instructor resource center found at www.pro-action.org.
We understand the difficulties that this may cause. It is important to emphasize that this change was completed without notice or feedback from AHA regional faculty, training centers or instructors. For comments and concerns regarding the American Heart Association’s decision, you may contact the AHA Customer Service Support Line at 1-888-CPR-LINE.
In order to adapt to the evolving market conditions of lay rescuer first aid & CPR training, we have developed strategic partnerships with other nationally recognized certification bodies whose pricing model is significantly different from that of the American Heart Association. These organizations include the National Safety Council, Emergency Care and Safety Institute and the American Safety & Health Institute. Similar in nature to the AHA, they offer student textbooks and course completion certificates that meet and/or exceed OSHA standards, are accepted nationwide and may significantly reduce your overhead as a CPR & First Aid instructor. We are prepared to work with you to transition to new options and will continue to support you as an instructor.
So we may take the appropriate time necessary to discuss how these changes will impact you, we will offer free in-person consultations to evaluate your needs as an instructor and find the appropriate course of action. To schedule an appointment, please email email@example.com or call 915-532-CPR1.
Again, please accept our sincerest of apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. We too are placed in an extraordinarily difficult situation as we must adjust accordingly as well. We look forward to our continued partnership with you in the coming months and years forward.
